But her real career began in the middle of the 20's and she became soon a popular actress.
To her well-known movies of the 20's belong "Der Soldat der Marie" (26), "Menschen untereinander" (26), "Der Mann ohne Kopf" (27), "Der alte Fritz" (27), "Saxophon-Susi" (28), "Sein bester Freund" (29) and "Andreas Hofer" (29).

Her engagements dropped off in the 30's. Among others she took part in the talkies "Leichtsinnige Jugend" (30), "Namensheirat/Diskretion - Ehrensache" (30), "Ein süsses Geheimnis" (32) and "...nur ein Komödiant" (35).

Her sister Liane Haid was also an actress and went down in film history as the first Austrian movie star.

Grit Haid died in a plane crash in the Black Forest on 13th August 1938.
