Hans Halden


1888 - 1973

The actor Hans Halden began his artistic career at the theater where he began on smaller stages before he went via Schwerin to Berlin.

In the next years he played many stage roles in Berlin, at the same time he was able to join the film business.

He took part in his first movie in 1913 calles "Ein Mädchen zu verschenken" (13), in the next years followed other silent movies like "Im Schützengraben" (15), "Der Tunnel" (15) and "Die Schuldige" (21).

Afterwards he concentrated to the theater again and it lasted till 1931 before he continued his film career.

In the next years he played roles in the productions "Der Hauptmann von Köpenick" (31), "Einmal möcht' ich keine Sorgen haben" (32), "Die elf Schill'schen Offiziere" (32), "Das erste Recht des Kindes" (32), "Donner, Blitz und Sonnenschein" (36) with Karl Valentin and Liesl Karlstadt, "Sherlock Holmes" (37), "Mordsache Holm" (38) and "Verwehte Spuren" (38).

During World War II he only acted in the movies "Der grüne Kaiser" (38) and "Das himmelblaue Abendkleid" (41).

He remained a busy stage actor after the war, first in Berlin, later in Hamburg as well.
He also acted in front of the camera again, besides feature movies also for TV productions.

To his last cinematical works belong "Sündige Grenze" (51), "Der Briefträger ging vorbei" (54) and "Das Friedensfest" (56).
