. The actor and singer Erwin Hartung was a well-known singer in the first place who also took part in some movies of the 30s. He began his career at the theater where he was an actor and singer in operettas. After his debut in Bayreuth followed engagements in Kostanz, Breslau and from 1925 Berlin. In Berlin he became a darling of the audience with numerous revues. When he published his first record in 1929 his voice came to many German households, often as a refrain singer. It followed countless ohter records, it is estimated that there were much more than 3000 records. Sometimes he used the pseudoyms Hans Horsten and Ernst Harten. Because of his huge popularity he impersonated first movie roles from 1932, among them for "Husarenliebe" (32), "Kind, ich freu' mich au Dein Kommen" (33), "Ein falscher Fuffziger" (35), "April, April!" (35), "Der Mann mit der Pranke" (35) and "Heiratsinstitut Ida & Co." (37). Later he also took part in TV production as a singer, his last movie was "Lady Audleys Geheimnis" (78).
