The Swedish actress Jenny Hasselqvist made her film debut in 1916 with "Balettprimadonnan/Ponisch Blut" (16) directed by the legendary Mauritz Stiller.

She experienced the height of her career in the 20's. She took part in other movies of Mauritz Stiller like "Johan" (21), "De Landsflyktige" (21) and "Gösta Berlings saga" (24).
Beside it she also worked in Germany too and became well-known in Europe.
To her other movies belong "Sumurun" (20), "Das brennende Geheimnis" (23), "Die Perücke" (24), "Till Österland" (26), "Brennende Grenze" (26) and "Schuldig" (27).

With the rise of the sound film she concluded her film career.
