.
. The actor Paul Heidemann had already great successes on the stage when he gained a foothold in the film business in the 10's. After his successful film debut in "Das Brandmal ihrer Vergangenheit" (12) it followed movies like"Ihr Unteroffizier" (14), "Ein nettes Pflänzchen" (16) and "Der Diplomatensäugling" (19) as well as a little serial of "Teddy" movies, among others "Teddy ist herzkrank" (14), "Teddys Geburtstagsgeschenk" (15) and "Teddy züchtet Notkartoffeln" (15). In the 20's he was the portly actor in movies like "Die Bergkatze" (21), "So sind die Männer" (22), "Der kleine Napoleon" (23), "Die dritte Eskadron" (26) and "Flucht aus der Hölle" (28). When the comedies round the military found the height at the beginning of the 30's, Paul Heidemann took also part in a multitude of such military comedies. To these movies belong "Wenn die Soldaten..." (31), "Schön ist die Manöverzeit" (31), "Die Mutter der Kompanie" (31), "Drei von der Kavallerie" (32) and "Liebe in Uniform" (32). Beside it he acted also very successful in well-known movies, often at Hans Albers' side. To his most famous movies of this time belong "Die grosse Sehnsucht" (30), "Ihre Hoheit befielt" (31), "Der tolle Bomberg" (32), ""Ganovenehre" (33), "Narren im Schnee" (38) and "Schneider Wibbel" (39). In the 40's he appeared often as a director, an activity he already practised in the 10's and 20's. His directed movies "Mein Mann darf es nicht wissen" (40), "Krach im Vorderhaus" (41), "Weisse Wäsche" (42) and "Floh im Ohr" (43) however weren't crowned with excessive success. In the 50's he turned to the acting again and finished his film career
with movies like "Torreani" (51), "Der keusche Josef" (53), "Rittmeister
Wronski" (54), "Der Mustergatte" (56) and "Jede Nacht in einem anderen
Bett" (57).
