. The author and screenwriter Robert Heymann became established as an author at the beginning of the 19th century and he wrote novels like "Weisse Nächte" (01), "Tod" (02), "Istar, das ist die Liebe" (02), "Gefallene Frauen" (02), "Das Bild von Sais" (03) and "Der rote Komet" (09). It followed many other novels in the 10s with "Um die Ehre gespielt" (10), "Die Hölle von Sidi-Bel-Abbès" (11), "Das flammende Land" (14), "Die gelbe Hölle" (14) and "Rasputin" (17). Finally he became a busy screenwriter for the film business and he wrote the script for the productions "Der Mann, den das Schicksal sandte" (16), "Das letzte Spiel" (16), "Die schwarze Gasse" (17), "Die Memoiren des Satans" (17), "Kain" (18), "Opfer der Gesellschaft" (18), "Lola Montez" (18), "Das Wachsfigurenkabinett" (19), "Die Marquise von O." (19) and "Irrungen" (19). In those years Robert Heymann also realised some movies as a director, among them "Die aus dem Jenseits kam" (16), "Die Frau im Spiegel" (16), "Die Memoiren des Satans" (17), "Lola Montez" (18) and "Wenn junge Herzen brechen" (19). Robert Heymann concentrated to the writing of screenplays in the first half of the 20s. To these works belong "Lederstrumpf" (20), "Das Geheimnis der sechs Spielkarten" (20), "Salome" (20), "Cocain" (21), "Des Kaisers alte Kleider" (23), "Im Schatten der Anderen" (24) and "Die Schuld" (24). Afterwards he retired from the film business and he was devoted again to the writing of novels. To his novels of the 20s and 30s belong "Ein furchtbares Geheimnis" (20), "Don Juan und die Heilige" (21), "Weiber, Könige, Henker" (28), Christinens Weg durch die Hölle" (29), "Das Verbrechen" (30), "Der masochistische Mann" (31), "Sexuelle Hörigkeit" (31), "Das hemmungslose Mädchen" (32) and "Nimm mich zu dir" (33). With "Panik in Chicago" (31) came his only sound film into being for which he wrote the screenplay. His son Robert Heymann junior alias Robert Arden became a well-known author too. Other
