. The actor Wilhelm Huch already worked for about thirty years at the theater where he appeared at the side of famous actors like Ernst Lubitsch, Alexander Moissi and the later movie star Harry Liedtke before he joined the film business at the age of nearly 60. He soon was often engaged for roles of servants, beside it he was also able to impersonate other characters in front of the camera. To his silent movies of the 10s belong "Artur Imhoff" (15), "Die nicht sterben sollen" (16), "Streichhölzer, kauft Streichhölzer" (16) and "Der Geigenspieler" (17). In the 20s he played support roles in the movies "Der Schicksalstag" (21), "Das Fräulein vom Amt" (25) and "Die Dame mit der Maske" (28). Wilhelm Huch reduced the hard work on stage from the 30s and impersonated more often small roles in front of the camera. He remained active as a movie actor till to the old age of 87. To his movies of those years belong "Yorck" (31), "Es wird schon wieder besser" (32), "Ein Unsichtbarer geht durch die Stadt" (33), "Die Heilige und ihr Narr" (35), "Schloss Vogelöd" (36), "Zu neuen Ufern" (37), "5 Millionen suchen einen Erben" (38) and "Gastspiel im Paradies" (38). His last cinematical works came during World War II into being with "Falstaff in Wien" (40), "Die goldene Stadt" (42) and "Die Degenhardts" (44).
