Johannes Alexander Kübler-Kahla

. The director, producer and screenwriter Johannes Alexander Hübler-Kahla first got an education as a cinematographer and he made first cinematical experiences by realising some short movies. For feature movies he first worked as a cinematographer assistant for movies like "Rasputin" (27), "Die Abenteuer des braven Soldaten Schwejk" (28) and "Mädchen in Gefahr" (29) before he became a chief cinematographer for "Nacht vor dem Tode" (29) and "Engel im Séparée" (29). From 1933 Johannes Alexander Hübler-Kahla realised several movies as a director like "Schüsse an der Grenze" (33), "Wenn ich König wär" (34), "Lärm um Weidemann" (35), "Durch die Wüste" (36), "Der geheimnisvolle Mister X" (36) and "Das Veilchen vom Potsdamer Platz" (36). Afterwards his film career came to an end because of a faked Arian identification which should gloss over that he was a Half-Jew. After an imprisonment he was no longer allowed to work. He was only able to continue his film career after the war and he shot again movies as a director with "Die Welt dreht sich verkehrt" (47), "Mikosch rückt ein" (52), "Die Wirtin an der Lahn" (55), "Blitzmädels an die Front" (57) and "Geld sofort" (61). Besides his activity as a director Johannes Alexander Hübler-Kahla also wrote several screenplays for "Blutsbrüder" (35), "Der geheimnisvolle Mister X" (36), "Meine Tante, deine Tante" (56), "Weisser Holunder" (57), "Eine Reise ins Glück" (58), "Arzt aus Leidenschaft" (59) and "Ein Student ging vorbei" (60) and he produced movies like "Schüsse an der Grenze" (33), "Die Welt dreht sich verkehrt" (47), "Der Prozess" (48), "Frauenarzt Dr. Bertram" (57), "Arzt aus Leidenschaft" (59) and "Frau Irene Besser" (61). In his movie "Schüsse an der Grenze" (33) he impersonated a small role in front of the camera.
