. The actress Jutta Jol was born as Justine Jutta Blanda Hermine Gehrmann in Metz. When she finished her education she began to work as librarian and during World War I she was active for the German army postal service as a telegraphist. She had to leave France after the war and she went to Berlin. There she met the actor, director and writer Arthur Teuber who engaged her for some of his movies from 1921. They got married a few years later. To Jutta Jol's silent movies of the 20s belong "Das Geheimnis der vier Tage" (21), "Memoiren eines Kammerdieners" (21), "Rosenmontag" (24), "Eheferien" (27), "Der gefesselte Polo" (28) and "Die Schmugglerbraut von Mallorca" (29). With the rise of the sound film she was able to continue her film career but normally got only offered minor roles. To her well-known movies of those years belong "Eine von uns" (32), "Ein Lied geht um die Welt" (33), "Liebe, Tod und Teufel" (34), "Ave Maria" (36), "Die göttliche Jette" (37), "Die gelbe Flagge" (37), "Der Tiger von Eschnapur" (38) and "Das indische Grabmal" (38). During World War II came her last cinematical works into being with "Pedro soll hängen" (41) and "Mit den Augen einer Frau" (42).
