.
. The actress Jenny Jugo was born as Eugenie Walter in Mürzzuschlag, Austria. At the age of 16 she got married with actor Emo Jugo but only one year later followed the separation. Jenny Jugo got a three-year contract from the Ufa in1924 and played in "Die Puppe vom Lunapark" (24), "Der Turm des Schweigens" (25), "Die gefundene Braut" (25),"Blitzzug der Liebe" (25) and "Liebe macht blind" (25). After that she was lent to the Phoebus where she shot some of her most successful pictures like "Schiff in Not" (25), "Casanova" (27), "Pique Dame" (27) and "Die Hose" (27). When the era of silent movies was over and the sound film demanded a new acting talent and especially a very clear pronunciation, Jenny Jugo took play lessons for the first time. In the next years she acted in less important movies like "Kopfüber ins Glück" (30), "Wer nimmt die Liebe ernst? (31) and "Die nackte Wahrheit" (31). In 1932 began a constant cooperation with director Erich Engel who knew
how to put her comedian talent into action. They shot among others the
movies "Fünf von der Jazzband" (32), "Pygmalion" (35), "Mädchenjahre
einer Königin" (36), "Gefährliches Spiel" (37), "Nanette" (39)
and "Viel Lärm um Nixi" (41).
In the next years she played in the productions "Die Gattin" (43), "Träum'
nicht, Anette" (49) and "Königskinder" (49), thereafter she retired
from the movie business.
