. The actor August Junker was active on stage in the first place and he only appeared sporadically in movies. His first movie was "Das Reklamemädel" (19) where he played the role of the agent Edi Schiesser. To his co-stars belonged Viktor Gehring, Lya Ley and Joe Stöckel. He appeared in few more silent movies in the 20s, among them with Karl Valentin in the movies "Der Kinomatograph" (20), "Zirkus Schnabelmann" (21) and "Die Schönheitskonkurrenz oder Das Urteil des Paris" (21), but also with other actors in "Taras Bulba" (24) with Oscar Marion, J.N. Douvan-Tarzow and Clementine Presser and playing René Bombast in "Miss Evelyne, die Badefee" (29) with Bobby Todd and Pilar Munza. As the caretaker Valentin he acted in "Kaiserliebchen" (31) which remained his only sound film. His partners were Liane, Haid, Walter Janssen, Wilhelm Bendow, Attila Hörbiger, Olly Gebauer and Wilhelm Diegelmann. |
