. The actress Melitta Klefer was a busy actress in the silent movie era. But she began her career as a juvenile at the theater and she began her professional career at the theater in Dresden where she appeared regular from 1907. To her first movies belong "Er oder Er" (17), "Die Seele des Kindes" (18), "Menschen in Ketten" (19) and "Anna Karenina" (19). In the 20s followed other well-known productions, among them "Lepain, der König der Verbrecher" (20), "Am Brunnen vor dem Tore" (22), "Der Zigeunerprimas" (29) and "Besondere Kennzeichen" (29). Melitta Klefer impersonated numerous support roles in the sound film era too. To her movies till the end of World War II belong "Aschermittwoch" (31), "Meine Frau, die Schützenkönigin" (34), "Hallo Janine!" (39), "Paradies der Junggesellen" (39), "Weisser Flieder" (40) and "Fronttheater" (42). She only appeared one more time in front of the camera after the war for "Frau Holle" (54). Besides her activity as an actress she was also appearing as a singer and dancer.
