The director and writer Octav von Klodnicki was only active in the film business for a brief time and his works were limited to the years 1918 and 1919.

As a movie director he realised several productions, among them "Wenn Gräber sich öffnen" (18) with Erwin Fichtner, Rudi Oehler, Heinrich Peer and Helene Voss, "Der Gattenmörder" (19) with Rudi Oehler, "Homo sum" (19) with Walter Schmidthässler, Rita Clermont, Eugen Rex and Heinz Sarnow and "Aus demdiluvialen Pompeji" (19).

To most of his directed movies he also wrote the screenplay like "Wenn Gräber sich öffnen" (18), "Der Gattenmörder" (19) and "Homo sum" (19) but he also wrote the script for "Die geborgte Villa" (18) for the director Ludwig Czerny with Fritz Junkermann, Ada Svedin and Emil Sondermann.

Besides his activity in the film business Octav von Klodnicki also wrote several books as an author and some of theme were also filmed.
To these works belong "Der tote Gast" (18) directed by William Kahn with Carl Auen and Erwin Fichtner as well as "Das wandernde Auge" (18) directed by Rudolf del Zoop with Richard Kirsch and Heinrich Peer.
