The actor Martin Kosleck got acting lessons at the acting school of Max Reinhardt, afterwards he appeared in revues and musicals.

He already impersonated his firsst movie role at the age of 19 in „Der Fahnenträger von Sedan“ (27).

It followed only few more appearances in German productions like „Napoleon auf St. Helena“ (29), „Alraune“ (29) and „Die singende Stadt“ (30).

Martin Kosleck already left Germany in 1931 because as a Jew he was engaged against the upcoming National Socialists and he had to face an arrest. From England he went to the USA the following year. There he was able to continue his artistic career.

He acted at the Broadway and he took part in his first US film for „Fashions of 1934“ (34).

He became established in the film business from 1939 and he impersonated numerous roles in the next years. During World War II he often played Nazis and other villains.

To his well-known movies till the end of World War II  belong „Confessions of a Nazi Spy“ (39), „Nick Carter, Master Detective“ (39), „Foreign Correspondent“ (40), „International Lady“ (41), „All Through the Night“ (42), „Nazi Agent“ (42), „Berlin Correspondent“ (42), „Chetniks“ (43), „The Hitler Gang“ (44), „The Mummy's Curse“ (44) and „The Spider“ (45).

Martin Kosleck remained a demanded support actor after the war and from the 50s he also appeared in many TV productions and serials. Beside it he still acted on stage as well.

To Martin Koslecks cinematical works of the 40s and 50s belong „Just Before Dawn“ (46), „The Wife of Monte Cristo“ (46), „She-Wolf in London“ (46), „Assigned to Danger“ (48), an episode of the serial „High Tension: The Golden Cat“ (53), an episode of the serial „Suspense: Torment“ (54), „Spion für Deutschland“ (56) and an episode of the serial „Kraft Television Theatre: Next Door to Death“ (58).

His activities in the 60s increased and he acted in the productions „Something Wild“ (61), „Hitler“ (62), an episode of the serial „The Rifleman: Old Tony“ (63), „The Flesh Eaters“ (64), an episode of the serial „Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea: The Fear-Makers“ (64), „ 36 Hours“ (64), an episode of the serial „The Rogues: The Computer Goes West“ (64), an episode of the serial „The Outer Limits: The Brain of Colonel Barham“ (65), an episode of the serial „Get Smart: Weekend Vampire“ (65), an episode of the serial „The F.B.I.: List for a Firing Squad“ (66), an episode of the serial „The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.: The Horns-of-the-Dilemma Affair“ (66), an episode of the serial „Batman: Batman's Anniversary“ (67), an episode of the serial „The Man from U.N.C.L.E.: The Cap and Gown Affair“ (67), an episode of the serial „The Wild Wild West: The Night of the Big Blackmail“ (68), an episode of the serial „Mission: Impossible: The Bunker“ (69) and „Wake Me When the War Is Over“ (69).
 
His career diminished in the 70s.
