. The actor Kurt von Lessen was born as Siegfried von Lützow in Vienna. He served in the army for a short period at the request of his father but Kurt von Lessen finally decided to become an actor. To his first theater engagements belong cities like Brünn, Troppau and Pressburg before he got the chance to act in Vienna at the Theater in der Josefstadt from 1905. Later followed appearances at other Viennese theaters which made him well-known to the audience. Kurt von Lessen was also active in front of the camera time and again. He already impersonated first movie roles in the silent movie era for the productions "Die Geheimnisse von London/Das siebente Gebot" (20), "Die Marquise von Clermont" (22) and "Garragan" (24). The transition to the sound film was no problem for the stage proved actor and he played in movies like "Der junge Baron Neuhaus" (34), "Die Leuchter des Kaisers" (36), "Burgtheater" (36), "Unsterblicher Walzer" (39) and "Wien 1910" (43). Kurt von Lessen only acted in one more movie after the war called "Dein Herz ist meine Heimat" (53). Together with Alexander Steinbrecher he wrote the libretto "Brillanten aus Wien" in 1940. This libretto was filmed in 1959 after a screenplay of Kurt ovn Lessen.
