The actress Wera Liessem only appeared for a short time in the German film industry. 
She began her career at the beginning of the 30's with the movies "Das erste Recht des Kindes" (31), "Strich durch die Rechnung" (32) and "Eine von uns" (32).

Her famoust movie followed in 1933 with Fritz Lang's "Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse" (33). After that followed only few more movies like "Das verlorene Tal" (34) and "Das Mädchen Johanna" (35).

Together with her partner in life, the writer Ödön von Horváth she left Berlin at the end of 1934 because of political reasons. She never returned to the film business.
