The actress Mara Markhoff joined the film business in 1919 and her activity remained limited to the silent movie era.
 
Her first appearance in front of the camera was in "Zweimal im Jenseits" (19), in the 20s she impersonated roles in the productions "Notsignal" (20), "Der Todesweg auf dem Piz Palü" (20), "Brennendes Land" (21), "Jeremias" (22), "Die Tragödie des Carlo Pinetti" (24), "Colibiri" (24), "Die Frau ohne Gewissen" (25), "Wie bleibe ich jung und schön - Ehegeheimnisse" (26) and "Rache für Eddy" (29).
