The actor Paul Mederow studied successfully philosophy before he
dedicated to the acting.
Afterwards he got acting lessons by the famous actor Friedrich Kayssler
who introduced him to the world of performance. Afterwards he began his
career at first theaters in Cottbus and Pforzheim before he got
engagements in big cities like Leipzig, Berlin and Vienna.
Paul Mederow joined the film business in 1919 and to his first movies
belong "Der verführte Heilige" (19) and "Tyrannei des Todes"
(19).
In the next years came already his last silent movies into being with
"Der Schrecken im Hause Ardon" (20) and "Die Tophar-Mumie" (20).
It followed an interruption of ten years before he made his comeback in
front of the camera in the new arising sound film.
He soon became a demanded support actor and he impersonated roles in
many popular productions.
To these works belong "1914, die letzten Tage vor dem Weltbrand" (31),
"M" (31), "Reifende Jugend" (33), "Hundert Tage" (35), "August der
Starke" (36), "Man spricht über Jacqueline" (37) and "Gewitterflug zu
Claudia" (38).
He was able to continue his film career during World War II and he took
part in "Weisser Flieder" (40), "Jud Süss" (40), "Kora Terry" (40) and
"Die goldene Spinne" (43).
Paul Mederow continue to work in front of the camera after the war,
besides feature movies he also acten in few TV productions.
To his last cinematical works belong "Der Untertan" (51), "Vati macht
Dummheiten" (53), "Antigone" (62), an episode of the serial "Das
Kriminalmuseum: Die Frau im Nerz" (63), "Der gelbe Pullover" (64) and
"Der Zauberer Gottes" (66).
Besides his activity as an actor he was also a dubbing speaker.
