The actress Lola Müthel was the daughter of the actor Lothar Müthel
and the singer Marga Reuter.
Therefore it wasn't a surprise when Lola Müthel decided to become
an actress. The actor and director Gustaf Gründgens spotted the vivacious
actress and became her mentor.
Lola Müthel learnt her acting abilities at the theater but she
already came in contact with the film business in 1938 when she appeared
in the production "Spiel im Sommerwind" (38).
Till the end of war followed the movies "Der Polizeifunk meldet" (39),
"Achtung! Feind hört mit! (40), "Ein Mann mit Grundsätzen?" (43)
and "Ein toller Tag" (45).
The theater kept her domain after the war, her appearances in movies
and later in TV productions were sporadically.
To her most popular post-war movies belong "Hotel Adlon" (55), "Rosen
im Herbst" (55), "Der Jugendrichter" (60) and "Vom Teufel geholt" (68).
From the 70's she normally took part in TV serials and single episodes
of popular thrillers like "Der Alte", "Tatort" and "Derrick".
To her last cinematical works belong "Aus dem Leben der Marionetten"
(80), "Wie du mir..." (89), "Die Rachegöttin" (92), "Babuschka" (96)
and "Krambambuli" (98).
Lola Müthel is married with the actor Hans Caninenberg.
