. The actress Carla Nelsen was born as Karoline Henriette Bäumler. She made her film debut in 1919 playing the role of a lady-in-waiting for the production "Kronprinz Rudolf oder: Das Geheimnis von Mayerling" (19) at the side of Rolf Randolf, Thea Sandten, Olga Engl and Marga Köhler. In the same year she got married with the movie director Rolf Raffé who engaged her for his first directed movie "Das Schweigen am Starnberger See - Schicksalstage Ludwig II, König von Bayern" (20) with Ferdinand Bonn. The couple realised some more movies like "Kaiserin Elisabeth von Österreich" (21) in which Carla Nelsen impersonated the role of empress Sissi - to her co-stars belonged Max Landa, Franz Scharwenka and Niels Jensen. It followed "Karoline Königin von England" (23) with Charles Willy Kayser, Erich Kaiser-Titz, Julia Serda, Magnus Stifter and Maria Forescu and "Der erste Stand/Rex Mundi" (25) with Eugen Klöpfer, Lia Eibenschütz, Hans Junkermann, Eduard von Winterstein and Albert Steinrück. |
