. The actor Harry Nestor was born as Franz Harry Pridun in Vienna. He was a busy actor on stage as well as in movies and he also appeared under the stage name Nesstor Ariani. He gained a foothold in the film business in 1918 with "Kinder der Strasse" (18), it followed "Eines grossen Mannes Liebe" (20) and he became a successful silent movie actor in the next years. To his other movies belong "Der Stier von Olivera" (21), "Die Tochter Ahasvers" (21), "Der Totenkopf" (21), "Das Geheimnis der Mumie" (21), "Das Haus ohne Lachen" (23), "Moderne Ehen" (24), "Unser täglich Brot" (25), "Die Waise von Lowood" (26), "Der Stolz der Kompagnie" (26), "Die elf Teufel" (27), "Der Mann mit dem Laubfrosch" (28) and "Alimente" (29). His appearances in front of the camera diminished in the 30's, he gave his special attention to the stage again. To his well-known productions of the 30's belong "Zwei Menschen" (30), "Der Mann im Dunkel" (30), "Arme, kleine Eva" (31), "Die Frau, von der man spricht" (31), "Manja Valewska" (36) and "Burgtheater" (36). His last cinematical works came in the 40's into being with "Der gebieterische
Ruf" (44) and "Die Schatztruhe" (48).
