The actress Margarethe Otto-Körner was the daughter of the actor Theodor Körner. The desire to become an actress also arose in her and so she received her first lessons from her foster father Bruno Manke.
Already as a child actress she was able to make numerous theater appearances. Via smaller stages she finally reached Berlin. Further stations were Hanover, Leipzig, Brno, Munich, Vienna and finally Hamburg, where she remained active for many decades.

In the film business she only appeared occasionally in front of the camera, her first film appearance can even be dated to the year 1898 for "Frau Otto Körner mit Hund" (1898).

After that she appeared in the silent movies "Die Welt geht unter" (18) with Max Berger and Eva Brock, "Banditen im Frack" (21) at the side of Mia Pankau, Julius Kobler and Hermann Wlach as well as "Die rote Nacht" (21) with Mia Pankau, Hermann Wlach, Oscar Marion, Max Wogritsch and Ludwig Max.
