Hans Paetsch

. The actor Hans Paetsch discovered his interest into the acting during a school performance and after the school he concentrated to this goal. He started his acting career at the theater where he worked on different stages, among others in Giessen, Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Lübeck and finally at the Thalia-Theater in Hamburg, where he was active as an actor and director from 1947 to 1974. He often impersonated support roles in movies and he made his film debut with "Silvesternacht am Alexanderplatz" (39). In the next years followed other cinematical works for "Blutsbrüderschaft" (41), "Hauptsache glücklich!" (41), "Fünftausend Mark Belohnung" (42) and "Sieben Briefe" (44). The theater remained his great passion, beside it he still was very busy as a support actor for movies. To his well-known movies of the 50s and 60s belong "Die Lüge" (50), "Made in Germany - Ein Leben für Zeiss" (57), "Blick zurück im Zorn" (58), "Die Caine war ihr Schicksal" (59), "Hunde, wollt ihr ewig leben" (59), "Natürlich die Autofahrer" (59), "Buddenbrooks - 1. Teil" (59), "Fabrik der Offiziere" (60), "Die toten Augen von Londn" (61), "Das Rätsel der roten Orchidee" (62), "Das Gasthaus an der Themse" (62), "Stalingrad" (63), "Wartezimmerzum Jenseits" (64) and the serial "Affäre Dreyfuss" (68). Hans Paetsch remained active till old age, to his last cinematical works belong "König Johann" (71), "Blaubart" (84), the serial "Das Erbe der Guldenburgs" (87-90), "Das serbische Mädchen" (91), "Ein letzter Wille" (94) and "Sieben Monde" (98). Thanks to his striking voice Hans Paetsch became a very popular narrator of audio books from the 60s. In numerous productions - often for children - he spoke for many well-known figures and soon got the nickname "Fairy Tale teller of the nation" and his voice became familier for several generations. His audio books inlucde "Der kleine Muck", "Asterix", "Hui Buh", "Point Whitmark" and "Edgar Wallace". Even musicians used his catchy voice, among them "Die Toten Hosen" and "Die Ärzte" Other movies with Hans Paetsch:
