. The actor Josef Peterhans made his film debut with the silent movie "Der Todessprung" (16)". In the next years followed many other appearances, among them productions like Und wenn ich lieb', nimm Dich in acht" (17), "Um Krone und Peitsche" (18),"Das Lied des Narren" (19), "Salome" (20),"Auri sacra fames - Der verfluchte Hunger nach Gold" (20), "Christian Wahnschaffe: Weltbrand" (20), "Madame Bovary" (20), "Das Mädel vom Piccadilly" (21), "Wilhelm Tell" (23) and "Zur Chronik von Grieshuus" (25). After that his performances in front of the camera became morde seldom, he only took part in "Rätsel einer Nacht" (27) and "Panik" (28). Only with the rise of the talkies he acted again in numerous movies. To his most popular talkies belong "Der Stolz der 3. Kompanie" (31), "Der tolle Bomberg" (32) with Hans Albers, "Viktoria" (35), "Fridericus" (36), "Der Tiger von Eschnapur" (37) and "Das indische Grabmal" (37). In the 40's came his last movies into being, among them "Trenck, der
Pandur" (40), "Jud Süss" (40), "Der grosse König" (42) and "Die
Entlassung" (42).
