. The actor Peter Petersen was born as Max Paulsen in Hamburg. He was a successful stage actor who was only seldom a performer in movies. He was especially very successful at the Burgtheater in Vienna. At the Burgtheater he became the art director and he had an important influence to the huge success of the house. He made his film debut at the age of 58 with "Maskerade" (34) and he has got himself the stage name Peter Petersen at the same time. In the next years followed few more cinematical works like "Die ewige Maske" (35), "Maria Walewska" (36) and "Germanin" (43). He appeared only once in front of the camera after the war for "Die Sonnenbrucks" (51) and concentrated completely to the Burgtheater again. Peter Peterssen was married with the actress Hedwig
Bleibtreu.
