The screenwriter Harald G. Petersson was first active as an author before he became the press chief of Tobis film production.
Finally one of his novels was used for a movie called „Herz ist Trumpf“ (34) which motivated him to become a screenwriter.

In the 30s he wrote the screenplays for „Die Korallenprinzessin“ (37), „Die fromme Lüge“ (38), „Rote Orchideen“ (38), „Die Nacht ohne Entscheidung“ (38) and „Frau ohne Vergangenheit“ (39).

He continued his career successfully in the 40s with „Ein Mann auf Abwegen“ (40), „Vom Schicksal verweht“ (42), „Die Hochstaplerin“ (44), „Der Verteidiger hat das Wort“ (44), „Razzia“ (47) and „Finale“ (48).

He wrote many screenplays for popular productions of the 50s and 60s like „Verbrechen nach Schulschluss“ (59), „Herrin der Welt“ (60), „Die Tür mit den 7 Schlössern“ (62), „Das Gasthaus an der Themse“ (42), „Der Schatz im Silbersee“ (62), „Der Zinker“ (63), „Das indische Tuch“ (63), „Winnetou“ (63), „Der Hexer“ (64), „Winnetou 2“ (64), „Winnetou 3“ (65) and „Die blaue Hand“ (67).

Harald G. Petersson was among others married with the actress Sybille Schmitz.
