. The actor Hermann Pfanz made his acting experiences on stage at first - among others in Konstanz, Hanover, Munich, Cologne and Berlin - before he entered the film business in 1919. His first movie was "Der Dorfkaplan" (19) where he played the role of a schoolteacher. His most successful time in the film business followed in the 20s where he was engaged for numerous productions. To his well-known works of those years belong "Der Mann auf der Flasche" (20), "Das schwarze Boot" (20), "Der Verfluchte" (21), "Das Auge des Toten" (22), "Um Liebe und Thron" (22), "Opfer der Liebe" (23), "Das Geheimnis einer Stunde" (25), "Der siebente Junge" (26) and "Valencia" (27). Playing the role of Colonel Bernklau in "Andreas Hofer" (29) he appeared a last time in front of the camera. The title role was played by Fritz Greiner.
