. The actor Karl Victor Plagge was a very successful comedian who also achieved huge popularity in the film business with his funny roles. He began his professional career as a newspaper editor, besides it he appeared for the first time as a comedian at the carneval of Cologne before he was appointed as a driver during World War I. After the war he launched his film career with the movie "Karlchen soll heiraten" (18). The figure "Karlchen" was continued in a whole string of short movies and Karl Victor Plagge became well-known in not time with movies like "Karlchen auf der Brautschau" (19), "Karlchen beim Zahnarzt" (19), "Karlchen macht Seitensprünge" (19), "Karlchen hypnotisiert" (20), "Eine Frau gesucht für Karlchen" (21) and "Karlchen als Lebensretter" (22). But he was also able to demonstrate his comical ability in other productions like "Die Bademaus" (19), "Der Prinz von Montecuculi" (20), "Hoheit auf der Walze" (20), "Die Flucht in die Ehe - Der grosse Flirt" (22) and "Die lockende Gefahr" (24). From the middle of the 20s when the figure "Karlchen" already had disused he impersonated in numerous movies very different support roles, among them are the movies "Zapfenstreich" (25), "Das alte Ballhaus" (25), "Die da unten" (26), "Der Stolz der Kompagnie" (26), "Die Kleine und ihr Kavalier" (26) and "Die Piraten der Ostseebäder" (27). In the middle of a very busy time he died at the age of only 41.
