. The director and actor Otto Poll was only active in the film business for a few years. He shot his first movie as a director with "Die Rache des Fakirs" (18) with Vilma Aknay. Afterwards he realised the production "Hypnose" (19) with the legendary visionary Erik Jan Hanussen. His last movies as a director came in 1920 into being with "Bruder Martin" (20) with Eugen Jensen and Viktoria Pohl-Meiser as well as "Goldfieber" (20). For two of his movies he was also active as an actor in front of the camera - "Die Rache des Fakirs" (18) and "Bruder Martin" (20). As a Jew he left Germany in the 30s and went to Shanghai.There he continued is acting career for the European Jewish Artist Society. |
