. The screenwriter Franz Rauch began his career as a stage actor in Stralsund. It soon followed engagements at other theaters before he gained a foothold in the film business in 1919 as an actor too. His appearances in the front of the camera remained seldom. To his few movies as an actor belong "Des Teufels Puppe" (19), "Wenn Männer streiken" (19), "Das Rätsel im Menschen" (20), "Der blinde Passagier" (22) and "Der Geigerkönig" (23). Although in 1919 he wrote his first screenplay for the movie "Komödianten" (19). He continued his film career as a screenwriter of normally humorous movies. To his numerous works of those years belong "Das Rätsel im Menschen" (20), "Der blinde Passagier" (22), "Colibri" (24), "Niniche" (25), "Das edle Blut" (27), "Die weisse Spinne" (27), "Robert und Bertram" (28), "Der moderne Casanova" (28) and "Es flüstert die Nacht" (29). He continued to work as a screenwriter during the sound film era of the 30s, among them are "Lumpenball" (30), "Flachsmann als Erzieher" (30), "Drei von der Kavallerie" (32), "Theodor Körner" (32), "Schwarzwaldmädel" (33), "Herbstmanöver" (36), "Drei tolle Tage" (36) and "Das Verlegenheitskind" (38). He wrote his last screenplay for the production "Die lustigen Vagabunden" (40). Other
