. The actor Ferdinand Robert was born as Ferdinand Anton Johann Emanuel Stiller in Vienna. He entered the film business in the middle of the 10s and he impersonated first roles in the movies "Auf Umwegen zum Glück" (15), "Die Petroleumquelle" (16), "In letzter Sekunde" (16), "Baccarat" (19) and "Hotel Medusa" (19). At the beginning of the 20s came his last silent movies into being, among them "Opfer" (20), Der König der Nacht" (20), "Die Brüder Karamasoff" (21), "Die Nacht ohne Morgen" (21) and "Es kommt der Tag" (22). Afterwards there was a longer interruption before he continued his film career in the sound film era of the 30s. It followed numerous support roles in well-known productions like "Alles Tage ist kein Sonntag" (35), "Allotria" (36), "Wenn Frauen schweigen" (37), "Gasparone" (37), "Der Tiger von Eschnapur" (38), "Das indische Grabmal" (38), "Die Umwege des schönen Karl" (38), "Salonwagen E417" (39), "Hallo Janine!" (39), "Robert Koch, der Bekämpfer des Todes" (39), "...reitet für Deutschland" (41), "G.P.U." (42) and "Der Mann, dem man den Namen stahl" (44). His last movies were released after World War II with "Peter Voss, der Millionendieb" (46) and "Initmitäten" (48). Besides his activity as an actor Ferdinand Robert also realised two movies as a director with "Um der Liebe Willen" (20) and "Der Geiger von Meissen" (21).
