. The screenwriter and author first studied law before he went on journey which led him to Europe, India and America. He lived several years in India and he wrote articles for different newspapers. His literally interesed led him to the film business in 1915 where he wrote his frist screenplays for "Ein Gruss aus der Tiefe" (15), "Das verschwundene Unterseeboot" (15) and "Der indische Tod" (15). From 1916 Paul Rosenhayn appeared as an author as well and he was very successful with his crime thrillers, among them also his figure detective Joe Jenkins. To his first novels belong "Elf Abenteuer des Joe Jenkins" (16), "Die weisse Orchidee und anderes" (16), "Der Cotillon der Toten" (18), "Nachtspuk" (18), "Die Nacht ohne Morgen" (19) and "Salto Mortale" (19). On the height of his literarily career he published numerous other novels in the 20s, among them "Der Mann, den niemand sah" (20), "Der Mitternachtsbesuch" (22), "Der frivole Jackie" (24), "Die glühende Gasse" (24),"Die Insel der Träume" (26), "Der Ritt in die Sonne" (26), "Der Herr der Nacht "(27), "Die Drei aus Hollywood" (29) and "Der Fall Pompejus Pym" (29). Despite his huge success as a writer Paul Rosenhayn remained active in the film business and he wrote numerous screenplays in the 10s for popular movies. To these movies belong "Die silberne Kugel" (16), "Die Nacht von Cory Lane" (16), "Der gelbe Ulster" (16), "Das Rätsel der Stahlkammer" (17), "Der Erdstrommotor" (17), "Das Geheimnis der Briefmarke" (17), "Zimmer Nummer sieben" (17), "Die Stunde der Vergeltung" (18), "Das gestohlene Hotel" (18), "Die Dame im Auto" (19), "Der letzte Gang" (19) and "Zwischen zwei Welten" (19). Paul Rosenhayn continued to write screenplays in the 20s till he died at the age of only 52 in 1929. To his last screenplays belong "Die Welt ohne Hunger" (20), "Das Chamäleon" (20), "Der Ruf aus dem Jenseits" (20), "Der tote Gast" (21), "Die Nacht ohne Morgen" (21), "Der grosse Sensationsprozess" (23), "Der Ritt in die Sonne" (26), "Rinaldo Rinaldini" (27), "Der Herr der Nacht" (27) and "Das Geständnis der Drei" (29). Besides his activity as a screenwriter he also took part as an actor in few movies like "Die Nacht von Cory Lane" (16), "Die Dame mit dem Diadem" (18) and "Die Dame mit dem Auto" (19). After his death there were several novels published posthumous - "Der Flammen-Kreisel" (30), "Das Haus im Schatten" (30), "Der Mann am Fenster" (30) and "Anruf in der Nacht" (31). Other
