. The actress Lina Salten was born as Lina Salomon in Cologne. After an acting education by Max Martersteig she made her stage debut in Hagen in 1910. It followed other theater engagements which led her finally to Berlin in 1912. There she became a busy stage actress. In 1913 Lina Salten joined the film business and she appeared as crown princess Friederike in Franz Porten's "Der Film von Königin Luise" (13), it followed the movies "Die Stricknadeln" (16), "Die Freundinnen" (16), "Der Richter" (17) and "Zimmer Nummer sieben" (17). She became established as movie actress in the next years and she impersonated numerous role in movies like "Arno Starks Kraft" (18), "Weisses Gold" (18), "Herbstzauber" (18), "Die Geisterjagd" (18), "Ich lasse dich nicht" (19) and "Eine unbedeutende Frau" (19). Her film career diminished at the beginning of the 20s when new stars appeared on the screen. To her last movies belong "Das Drama von Glossow" (20), "Opfer der Liebe" (21), "Das gestohlene Millionenrezept" (21) and "Lachendes Weinen" (23). Afterwards she concentrated to the theater again but there her career came to end too. As a jews she did not have any future in Germany from 1933, finally she was transported to Auschwitz where she died, probably by gassing.
