The actress Annemarie Sauerwein got her acting education at the stage school of the Schauspielhaus in Cologne and it followed first small stage roles. After her first main role in Cologne she was engaged at the theater in Frankfurt., it followed engagements in Wiesbaden, Bremen, Hamburg and Berlin.

There she was spotted for the film by the director Arthur Maria Rabenbalt and she impersonated few roles in front of the camera from 1939.
Her first movies were „Flucht ins Dunkel“ (39), „Die drei Smaragde“ (39) and „Der Vorhang fällt“ (39).

Afterwards her film career ended for the time being.
It lasted till 1955 before he acted in movies again. To these productions belong „Es geschah am 20. Juli“ (55) and „Ein Herz voll Musik“ (55).
