. The composer and conductor Werner Schmidt-Boelcke was born as Werner Albert Anton Paul Schmidt. He came in contact with the medium movie very early and wrote the music for many well-known productions. To his first film composition belong "Der letzte Mann" (24) together with Giuseppe Becce, "Liebeshölle" (28), "Abwege" (28), "Mary Lou" (28), "Kolonne X" (29), "Der Hund von Baskerville" (29), "Fräulein else" (29) and "Cagliostro" (29). He continued his activity as a film composer in the 30's and wrote the scores to popular movies like "Liebe und Champagner" (30), "Yorck" (31), "Theodor Körner" (32), "Das Meer ruft" (33) and "Eine Frau, die weiss, was sie will" (34). His last film composition came in the 40's into being with "Der Mann im Sattel" (45) and "Peter Voss, der Millionendieb" (46). Werner Schmidt-Boelcke was among others the first chief conductor of
the Münchner Rundfunkorchester.
