. The actress Madga Schneider attended a singing training at the Augsburger Konservatorium für Musik und Theater and took ballet lesson at the same time. She hade her first appearance as a singer in the play "Die Fledermaus". It followed engagements in Ingolstadt, Munich and Vienna. She made her film debut with "Boykott" (30). Two years later she launched her real film career with movies like "Zwei in einem Auto" (32), "Das Testament des Cornelius Gulden" (32) and eventually "Liebelei" (33) - one of her best movies in which she could unfold her whole acting talent. Till the end of war she took part in well-known productions like "G'schichten
aus dem Wienerwald" (34), "Eva" (35), "Rendezvous in Wien" (36), "Frauenliebe
- Frauenleid" (37), "Liebeskomödie" (42) and "Ein Mann gehört
ins Haus" (45).
Magda Schneider took part in a whole string of successful movies in the 50's but her main interest was the career of her daughter Romy and she took care of her intensive. So her movie appearances were normally coupled with the first roles of her daughter. To her well-known movies of the 50's belong "Wenn der weisse Flieder wieder blüht" (53), "Mädchenjahre einer Königin" (54), "Die Deutschmeister" (55), "Sissi" (55), " "Sissi, die junge Kaiserin" (56), "Robinson soll nicht sterben" (56) and "Sissi - Schicksalsjahre einer Kaiserin" (57). At the beginning of the 60's she retired from the film business. Only
at the end of the 60's she took part again in two TV serials.
