. The cinematographer Laszlo Schäffer began his professional career as a photographer. In the middle of the 10s he got an education as a cinematographer. Afterwards he went to Germany where he became a busy cinematographer of the 20s for many silent movies. To these movies belong "Schloss Vogelöd" (21), "Der Mann mit der eisernen Maske" (23), "Eine verlorene Tochter" (24), "Die Frau ohne Gewissen" (25), "Die glühende Gasse" (27), "Berlin: Sinfonie der Grossstadt" (27), "Rasputins Liebesabenteuer" (28) and "Spelunke" (29). With the rise of the sound film he shot movies in Germany and Hungary before he had to finish his film career because he was a Jew. He emigrated via Budapest to the USA. To his cinematical works of the 30s belong "Gefahren der Brautzeit" (30), "Verklungene Träume" (30), "Rok 1914" (32), "Igloi diakok" (36), "Rubber" (36) and "Das Mädchen mit dem guten Ruf" (38).
