Vera Schmiterlöw

. The actress Vera Schmiterlöw first attended an acting school before she started her stage career in Sweden. It didn't last long till she also appeared in her first movies in 1923 and she made her film debut with "Thomas Graalsmyndling" (23) and "Andersson, Pettersson och Lundström" (23). She became established in the Swedish silent film business in the next years with the productions "När millionerna rullar..." (25), "Mordbrännerskan" (26) and "Drottningen av Pellagonien" (27). She went to Germany in 1927 where she was able to continue her film career successfully. To her movies in Germany belong "Ihr letztes Liebesabenteuer" (27), "Der Fahnenträger von Sedan" (27), "Frau Sorge" (28), "Mädchenschicksale" (28), "Wenn der weisse Flieder wieder blüht" (29) and "Sein bester Freund" (29). With the rise of the sound film her film career in Germany came to an end and she only took part in few more productions like "Alimente" (30) and "Das Schicksal einer schönen Frau" (31). Finally she returned to Sweden where he focussed on her stage career again. Beside it she acted again in few more movies like "En kvinnas morgondag" (31) and "Unga hjärtan" (34). It followed an interruption of 35 years before she acted again in front of the camera for the serial "Hall polisen utanför" (69). Her last cinematical works followed in the 70s with the serial "Ett resande teatersällskap" (72) and "Släpp fangarne loss, det är var!" (75).
