. The actress Anny Seitz was normally active at the theater, she only appeared seldom in the film business. She already made her film debut in 1920 with "Der bayerische Hiasel" (20), directed by her husband Franz Seitz. It lasted till 1937 before she appeared again in front of the camera. To her last movies belong "Daphne und der Diplomat" (37) directed by Robert A. Stemmle with Karin Hardt, Gerda Maurus, Hans Nielsen, Karl Schönböck and Paul Dahlke, Hans Deppe's "Gewitter im Mai" (38) at the side of Viktor Staal, Hansi Knoteck and Hans Richter and playing the role of Minchen Fiebelkorn in the notorious movie "Jud Süss" (40) directed by Veit Harlan with Ferdinand Marian, Kristina Söderbaum, Heinrich George, Werner Krauss, Eugen Klöpfer, Albert Florath and Theodor Loos. The movie was a huge success in whole Europe and distinguished by its impressive direction. But the original novel was misinterpreted by the anti-Semitic orientation of the National Socialists. |
