Franz Schier

The actor and singer Franz Schier studied singing at the music academy in Vienna and he became a popular singer in Austria afterwards.

He achieved the first place at a song and jazz competition and his songs were eternalized on records.
Beside it he owned a popular wine tavern where he performed his songs as well.

Thank to his popularity as a singer he got several engagements in movies from 1931.
He impersonated his first role in "Kameradschaft" (31), it followed well-known productions like "Eva" (35), "Das Frauenparadies" (36), "Prinzessin Sissy" (39) and "Der Meisterdetektiv" (44).

After the war followed few more appearances in front of the camera like "Der alte Sünder" (51) and "Stadtpark" (51).

Franz Schier died at the age of only 44 in 1954 because of complications of a appendectomyF   x4a
