. The actor Julius Strobl began a military career as his father but he had to retire for health reasons. Instead he decided to become an actor and he got his first engagement at the Volkstheater in Vienna. It followed numerous engagements in the next years, among others in Vienna, Berlin and even New York where he appeared at the Irving Place Theater. It followed other cities in the USA. When he returned to Europe he continued his stage career and he acted in cities like Hanover and Vienna again. Julius Strobl joined the film business in 1914 where he soon became an demanded actor too. He impersonated roles in the movies "Dunkle Wege" (14), "Viererzug" (17), "Die Macht des Anderen (18), "Ihre beste Rolle" (18), "Zwei Welten" (19), "Madame Blaubart" (19) and "Licht und Schatten" (19). He took part again in numerous silent movies in the 20s. To these works belong "Die Geheimnisse von London" (20), "Elixiere des Teufels" (20), "Die Spur im Dunkeln" (21), "Revanche" (22), "Das Gespenst auf Mortons Schloss" (22), "Die letzte Stunde" (24), "Sacco und Vanzetti" (27) and "Champagner" (29).
