The actor Walter Stumvoll was able to gain a foothold in the film business in 1938 as he acted in „Die Gottes Mühlen“ (38).

During World War II followed other movies like „Liebespremiere“ (43), „Das schwarze Schaf“ (44) and „Es fing so harmlos an“ (44).

He continued his film career after the war and he impersonated other support roles.
to these productions belong „Schuss um Mitternacht“ (50), „Seine Tochter ist der Peter“ (55), „Götz von Berlichingen“ (55), „Der König der Bernina“ (57), „Der Verschwender“ (64), „Der Hauptmann“ (71) and „Komtesse Mizzi“ (75).

His last cinematical works came in the 80s into being with „Maria Theresia“ (80), „Die Ausgesperrten“ (83) and „Professor Bernhardi“ (83).
