.
. The actress Charlotte Susa was born as Charlotte Wegmüller. She began her career as singer for operas and operettas before she was spotted for the film business by director Richard Eichberg. She made her film debut in 1926 with the movie "Der Prinz und die Tänzerin", it followed other silent movies like "Die Pflicht zu schweigen" (27), "Arme kleine Colombine" (27), "Du sollst nicht stehlen" (28), "Sünde und Moral" (29) and "Erotikon" (29). Because of her trained voice she didn't have any difficulties to be
successful in the talkies. She had great successes as vamp with movies
like "Der Tiger" (30), "Zwei Menschen" (30), "Der Greifer" (30), "Die Pranke"
(31), "Unter falscher Flagge" (32), "Henker, Frauen und Soldaten" (35),
"Wasser für Canitoga" (39) at Hans Albers'
side and finally "Der Gasmann" (41) with Heinz Rühmann.
After the war she acted again for the theater, often at her husband
