Mathilde Sussin

. The actress Mathilde Sussin came to the theater in 1895 where she appeared at the Stadttheater Innsbruck for the first time. In the next years followed numerous engagements in cities like Aachen, Wien, Graz and Berlin. In Berlin she acted successfully on stage for many years and finally she got her first engagement for a movie in 1916 with "Der Letzte eines alten Geschlechtes" (16). In the next years followed movies like "Die Nackten" (19) and "Unrecht Gut" (19). The height of her film career followed in the 20s and she impersonated many roles in well-known productions. To these works belong "Die Schuld des Grafen Weronski" (21), "Wenn die Maske fällt" (22), "Die Buddenbrooks" (23), "I.N.R.I." (23), "Ein Walzertraum" (25), "Menschen untereinander" (26), "U 9 Weddingen" (27), "Feme" (27), "Zuflucht" (28) and "Die Heilige und ihr Narr" (28). Her last cinematical works came at the beginning of the 30s into being with "Flachsmann als Erzieher" (30), "Das erste Recht des Kindes" (32) and "Das Blaue vom Himmel" (32). One year later also followed her last appearance at the theater before she was no longer able to work because of the rise of the National Socialism. She was deported to the concentration camp Theresienstadt in 1942 where she died one year later.
