The actor Friedrich Taeger received acting lessons from Julius Jaffé in Dresden, after which he made his debut at the princely theater in Pyrmont in 1886.

In the following years Friedrich Taeger established himself as a stage actor and engagements in Görlitz, Oldenburg, Berlin, Zurich and Leipzig followed.

At the beginning of the 20th century he moved to Altona, and his last engagement took him to the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, where he acted from 1926 to 1932.

In the film Friedrich Taeger impersonated only a few roles.
His first movie was "Strandgut der Leidenschaft" (21) with Margarete Lanner, Oscar Marion, Heinrich Peer and Ernst Sattler.

Afterwards he impersonated the role of Ullrich in "Stadt in Sicht" (23) at Harry Nestor's, Edith Posca's and Otto Treptow's side.

His last work in front of the camera was "Die Buddenbrooks" (23) by director Gerhard Lamprecht with Mady Christians, Alfred Abel, Mathilde Sussin, Ralph Arthur Roberts and Kurt Vespermann. In it he played the mayor Oeverdieck.
