. The actor Hans Thimig came from a family which was a traditional acting one. His father Hugo Thimig (1854-1944) was a well-known actor, although his brother Hermann Thimig (1890-1982) and his sister Helene Thimig (1889-1974). So it doesn't surprise that also Hans Thimig was seized by the actin
bacillus.
With the transition to the sound film he was able to continue his career like his siblings. He played in "Geld auf der Strasse" (30), "Lumpenkavaliere" (32) and "Millionäre" (37), and in the 40's he often directed movies, among others "Brüderlein fein" (42), "Die goldene Fessel" (44), "Umwege zu Dir" (47) and "Maresi/Der Angeklagte hat das Wort" (48). In the 50's he took part in the great successes "Der schweigende Mund" (51), "Mädchenjahre einer Königin" (54), "Seine Tochter ist der Peter" (55), "Um Thron und Liebe/Sarajevo" (55), "Sebastian Kneipp - der Wasserdoktor" (58) and "Der Priester und das Mädchen" (58). Hans Thimig finished his cinematically career with "Der brave Soldat
Schwejk" (60) and "Die Kaiserin" (62).
