. The actress Helga Thomas was born as Helga Amalia Sandell in Skog, Sweden. She began her acting career at the Intima theater in Stockholm, it followed engagement in Olof Hillberg's touring company and at the Nya theater from 1916 to 1921. Her film career already started in 1923 and it was more or less limited to the silent movie era. To her first movies belong "Ein Glas Wasser" (23), "Der verlorene Schuh" (23) and "Nora" (23). In the next years followed other popular productions like "Der Wilderer" (25), "Der Mann im Feuer" (26), "Richthofen, der rote Ritter der Luft" (27), "Ledige Mütter" (27) and "Morgenröte" (29). When the talkies arose she retired from the film business. She was first
married with Johannes Skar and in 1938 she got married with Carl Tholander.
