. The actor Otto Tressler was born as Otto Mayer in Stuttgart. He soon became a famous actor of his time at the legendary Burgtheater and he became also famous abroad. He was curious of the new medium film and appeared from 1915 in first movies. To his first movies belong "Zwei Freunde" (15) and "Das Geheimnis des Goldpokals" (19). He played successfullyin "Der Roman eines Dienstmädchens" (21), "Kinder der Finsternis" (22), "Le Fauteuil 47 - Parkettsessel 47" (26) and "Der rote Kreis" (29) in the 20's. With the transition to the sound film era he became more offers than before. Between the 30's and the 50's he was an esteemed actor who appeared in well-known movies like "Leise flehen meine Lieder" (33), "Ein Lied geht um die Welt" (33), "Die Insel" (34), "Episode" (35), "Die Pompadour" (35), "Mädchenjahre einer Königin" (36), "Ich bin Sebastian Ott" (39), "Wien 1910" (42), "Opfergang" (44), "An klingenden Ufern" (49), "Maria Theresia" (51), "Sissi" (55) and "Wien, du Stadt meiner Träume" (57). The theater became a second home for Otto Tressler and he was able to
play many different roles just before his death.
