. The actor Franz Verdier was born as Franz Schulz in Nordenburg. Er began his career at the theater where he not only was active as an actor but also as a theater director, among others for "Das Neue Theater Weissenfels". He entered the film business in 1915 where he made his debut with "Das verschwundene Unterseeboot" (15). The versatile actor was engaged for entertaining movies normally in the next years, beside it he also took part in few historic movies. To his well-known silent movies belong "Der Todesstern" (17), "Der Sohn des Hannibal" (18), "Der Fürst der Diebe und seine Liebe" (19), "Wenn Colombine winkt" (20), "Der rätselhafte Tod" (21), "Bismarck, 1. Teil" (25) and "Manolescu - Der König der Hochstapler" (29). In the sound film era of the 30s he only appeared in few more movies and he concentrated again to the theater. To his last movies belong "Brand in der Oper" (30) and "Wir parken, wo es uns gefällt" (34).
