. The actress Jessie Vihrog was born in South Africa where her father worked as a farmer. At the age of eight her family returned to Germany and she grew up in Leipzig and Eisenstadt. Jessie Vihrog was already desrious to become an actress in her younger days and her dream became true in 1921 when she made her stage debut in Leipzig. Soon she became established at the theater and it followed engagements at other theaters in Germany, among others also in Berlin in 1927 where she played on the Barnowsky stages. When the sound film arose Jessie Vihrog also gained a foothold in this medium and she made her screen debut with "Der falsche Ehemann" (31). In the next years Jessie Vihrog impersonated roles in many other movies
which made her well-known to a huge audience.
During and after World War II she only took part in few more movies like "Ich bin gleich wieder da" (39), "Unser kleiner Junge" (41) and "Hallo - Sie haben Ihre Frau vergessen" (49). Besides her activity as an actress she detected an other possibility to develop her artistic abilities by applying herself to the sculpture. The nephew of Jessie Vihrog - Frithjof Vierock - became a popular actor
too.
